Thanks for your comment, Rusty. I won’t provide my Live Set here. When you have a look at the introduction of this article you see that i used the sounds described here for a song for my upcoming album, which will be released at 22th May by the way.

Yeah, we had that problem also. What Craig doesent understand is the fold-out button on the gate.

Craig, do like this

1 create a drum track 2 add a gate to the distorted base track 3 press the fold-out triangle on the gate so that sidechaning is visible 4 choose the drum-track as the sidechain source. 5 adjust the gate (while having the drums playing ofcourse) 6 mute the drums, since you dont want them in the mix

thanks for a good article Zettt, perhaps you could post the Ableton live project for clarification, or do you have a pedagogic twist as a reason not to?

??? I don't get you're question. When you want to send something into Gate's Sidechain then just click on the Triangle right beside the On/Off Switch of "Gate". See the picture above this comment box. On the right side you see "Gate". Inside the picture there is the Sidechain button and just above is the triangle which shows or hides this Sidechain/Audio From section.

Is that of any help for you?

you said this in regards to routing the simple bass track and kit-909, but how exactly do you do this? I think I misunderstand what is to be done. Thanks for any clarification.
